"To the family: Mr. Pinckney better known as Pop will truly be missed. He was a wonderful, kindhearted and caring person who always put others first. He truly loved his children and family. I feel blessed to have known him, he was my late husband "Sonny Riley" best friend, classmate and he was our Leader at Greater Bethel A.M.E. Church. My thoughts and prayers are with you and family during your time of sadness." Psalm 30.5 tells us that "weeping endures for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Find solace in knowing that Pop found that joy and the peace that surpasses all understanding last Sunday. Our prayers are with you. The Family of Dorothy S. Riley and the Late Marion F. "Sonny" Riley Jr.

To my friend James I met you as a classmate in 9th grade, as a caring protective big brother when we attended the same college and as family when you married my cousin. You were brave, funny and always there for anyone who needed you. There is not enough paper for me to even begin to write a tribute for you, but no one deserves it more. I may not be able to attend your funeral in person because I'm dealing with my own health issues. Just know that I will be there in spirit because those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. Until we meet again James, rest in peace!
