Obituary For Mr. William A. McKinney, Sr.

Mr. William A. McKinney, Sr of Burdette, Arkansas was born February 7, 1938, in Mississippi County Arkansas to Samuel L. McKinney and Ruby L. Simmons McKinney. William was of the Baptist faith and was a member of New Galilee Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and Usher under the pastorage of Reverend Leroy Nash. He worked hard to provide for his family, retiring from the Blytheville Canning Factory.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Charlie Ann McKinney, and a son, William A. McKinney, Jr. Mr. McKinney passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at the Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of 86.

He is survived by two sons, Wardell McKinney of Burdette, Arkansas and Charlie McKinney of San Antonia, Texas; two daughter, Lois McKinney-Wilkins of Helena, Arkansas; and Cynthia McKinney of Atlanta, Georgia; three brothers, Tommy McKinney of Burdette, Arkansas; Willie B. (Shirley) White of Elkhart, Indiana; and Jackie C. McKinney of Merrillville, Indiana; five sisters, Ernestine McKinney of Merrillville, Indiana; Clara Alexander of Merrillville, Indiana; Minnie Jean Merriweather of Lansing, Michigan; Margaret Ann McKinney of Warren, Michigan, and Benoit Payne of Memphis, Tennessee; twelve grandchildren, many great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation for Mr. McKinney will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, from 10:00 until service time at 11:00 at Faith and Glory Christian Followship, 1510 Kari Ln, Blytheville, AR. where Reverend Adron Poole is the pastor.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 at the church. Reverend Leroy Nash will deliver the eulogy with interment to follow in Sandy Ridge Cemetery in Burdette.

So sorry for your loss. I remember when working on the city for Manpower, Mr. WM was my sister and me boss. I truly appreciated working under him for the fact that, he made us remember our social security number so we wouldn't have to pull out our card.
