Obituary For Rueben Louis Hall

Mr. Reuben “Chief” Hall, son of the late Luther Hall, Sr. and Florence Mae Hall was born March 5, 1941 in Greene County, Georgia. As a child he was educated in the Greene County School System. Reuben Louis Hall, affectionately passed away peacefully on July 5, 2024 in Athens, Georgia.

Reuben spent many years as a dedicated mechanic at Ford Motor Company in Greensboro and served as a bus driver and mechanic for the Greene County School System. Known for his love of playing the Georgia Lottery; farming and spending quality time with his family. Reuben was a storyteller at heart, often sharing tales imbued with wisdom. He was just a plain old country man at heart.

A kind, generous and well-respected man, Reuben leaves behind a legacy of live and devotion. He is survived by his daughters: Mary L. Jackson of Milledgeville, Georgia & Vanessa Hall of Atlanta, Georgia,; daughter-in-law: Jacqueline Swain-Hall of Siloam, Georgia; his son: Wilbert Hall of Siloam, Georgia. Reuben was the proud grandfather to twelve grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Will Hall (Evelyn) of Decatur, Georgia and John Hall of Siloam, Georgia; sisters: Ruth (Milton) Robbins of White Plains, Georgia, Annie (Ernest) Griffin of Atlanta, Georgia & Doris Hall of Decatur, Georgia. Also, brothers-in-law: Johnny Lundy of Atlanta, Georgia, Willie Lundy of Greensboro, Georgia, James Lundy of White Plains, Georgia and Willie Love Shorter of White Plains, Georgia; sisters-in-law: Betty Hall of Atlanta, Georgia, Annie Pearl of Siloam, Georgia, Brenda Hall of Greensboro, Georgia and Linda Lundy Barnes (Johnny) of White Plains, Georgia.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife: Elizabeth Hall; sons: Ernest Hall and Will Hall; brothers: Luther Hall, II, Sylvester Hall, Eddie Hall, Edward Hall, Welton Hall; brother-in law: Frank Lundy and sisters-in-law: Josephine Hall and Catherine Hall.

Reuben’s life was a testament to his enduring faith and the deep bonds he forged with all who knew him. He will be dearly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends of the family: Shirley Ransom, Tony Jarrells & Cleotis Shipman and many other friends. We will forever remember you until we meet again.
