1949 - 2024

Mr. Brown of Lakeland transitioned Monday, June 10, 2024. A visitation will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life to follow. All services will be held at Coney Funeral Home - 647 W. Memorial Boulevard, Lakeland, Florida 33815.

Alvin Eugene Brown, affectionately known as “Pete”, was born on October 1, 1949 in Jacksonville, Florida to Walter Lee Brown, Sr. and Glendola Brown.

Alvin was educated with the Duval County School System and graduated from Douglas Anderson High School in 1969. Alvin was employed with Amtrak for 21 years.

Alvin was an avid sports fan who love the Florida State Seminoles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Alvin also loved watching westerns and gameshows. Alvin will be greatly missed by all who know him.

Alvin went on to be with the Lord on Monday, June 10, 2024. He was preceded in death by his parents: Walter Lee Brown, Sr., Glendola Flournoy; grandparents: Walter Louis and Carrie Mae Brown; siblings: Linda Brown, Bobby Brown, Walter Lee Brown, Jr., Traviss Brown; nephews: Alvin Brown, Jordan Daughtry and niece: LaBreka Evans.

His love will forever remain in the hearts, minds and souls of his children: Valerie Brown, Yolanda Sergent (Anthony); siblings: Willie Brown, Michael Flournoy, Wauna Evans (Larry), Brenda White; grandson: KaVarous Moses; nieces: Victoria Daughtry, Nyana Stewart and a host of more nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
