Obituary For Sherry Ann Dorman

Sherry Ann (Whitaker) Dorman, aged 62, passed away on June 24, 2024 in Wichita Falls, TX after battling kidney disease. She was a beloved mother, wife, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Visitation will take place Friday, June 28th, from 6-8PM, at White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29th, at 10 AM at the Light House Assembly of God and a graveside will be held following service at Elmwood Cemetery, both in Bowie as well. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Bowie Senior Citizen’s Center in memory of Sherry Dorman.

Sherry was born on May 18,1962, in Bowie, where she lived most of her life, to Jerry and Dorothy (Williams) Whitaker. Sherry graduated from Bowie High School in 1980. She worked in Bowie at multiple school locations in the cafeteria and later served at the Bowie Senior Citizen’s Center in different roles.

She enjoyed singing at church, cooking, and spending time with her family.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Dorothy, and her twin brother, Gary Whitaker.

She is survived by her husband, Greg, children Kennedy Dorman, Rylan Dorman, Brandi Dorman, and Lindsey Myers and husband Cody, and sister Kay Maxwell and husband Donnie. Sherry was also survived by her grandchildren Brandon, Gabi, Gavin, Addison, Coye, and Kyler, great-grandchildren Jayden and Olivia Howard, and multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.

I am so sad to learn of Sherry's passing. When we lived in Bowie and attended Lighthouse Sherry was always there along with her family. I pray for her family for their comfort at this time of grief.I know Sherry had a happy homecoming with Jesus and those in her family that have gone before.

Sherry will be truly missed but forever remembered My deepest apologies it totally saddens my heart I will not be able make the service or sing as she wanted ( I am out of State on an assignment ) I will be in thought and prayers.
