Obituary For Jannell Davis

Jannell H. Davis, daughter of the late James D. Holland and Mary Ray Holland, was born on July 21, 1938, in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Jannell entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2024, at her home in Fuquay-Varina, NC. Jannell was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Davis.

Jannell graduated from Fuquay Consolidated in 1962. Jannell joined Saint Augusta Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. She worked at Lufkin Tools for 15 years, Universal Polymer for 10 years, and retired from the Wake Public school system in 1995. After Jannell retired, she devoted her time to her family. She enjoyed cooking, making the family laugh, and telling family to “come across the border (money$$).”

To cherish her memories, she leaves her children, Leisa Davis of the home, Audrey Davis of Fuquay, Sophia D. Harris (Stevie Harris) of Holly Springs, NC, and Tommie Davis (Stroria) of Angier, and a niece that called her momma, Geraldine Jones; nine grandchildren and a host of great-grand and great-great-grandchildren, totaling an awesome five; eight sisters, Mary Lou Mckoy, Gladys Holland, Maxine Richardson (Lonnie), Beatrice Lanier ( Tommie) of all Fuquay, Carolyn Holland of Apex, Apostle Evelyn Toliver of Franklinton, Betsy Harris, and Ilene Holland of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Mark Holland (Vatina). She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eva Hughes and Jean Mcbride; four brothers, James “Buck” Holland, John Holland, Archie (Mack) Holland, and Ben Holland; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Jannell was a great and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved the Lord, and she will be truly missed.

Visitation: 2:00 - 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at St. Augusta Missionary Baptist Church in Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526.

Funeral will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at St. Augusta Missionary Baptist Church, 605 Bridge Street in Fuquay - Varina, NC 27526.

Burial: Wake Chapel Church Cemetery, 905 Wake Chapel Road in Fuquay - Varina, NC 27526.
