Obituary For Brenda Joyce Brownlee

The funeral services for the late Mrs. Brenda Joyce Brownlee, who departed this life on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at 2:00 p.m., from the First Deliverance Church of God In Christ in Tifton, Georgia. Pastor Troy Lindsey will deliver the Eulogy. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Cemetery in Ashburn, Georgia. Mrs. Brenda Joyce Poke Brownlee was born on January 20, 1959 in Ashburn, Georgia to the late Mrs. Catherine Poke and the late Mr. Charles Douglas Teague.

Brenda graduated from Turner County High School in 1977. She was a very hard worker who wend above and beyond for her children and grandchildren. Brenda was a factory worker for many years. She worked at Ithaca Industries in Rochelle, Georgia, Shaw Industries in Fitzgerald and Tifton, Georgia, and Denham's in Sycamore, Georgia before all businesses closed down. She then retired and assisted her best friend, Geraldine Fowler, with childcare, where she had a special bond with every child and parent that she came in touch with.

Brenda joined Mt. Zion Church of God Apostolic in Ashburn, Georgia at an early age. In her adult years, Brenda joined St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Troy Lindsey, and then went on to join Friendship Baptist Church as First Lady, under the leadership of her husband, Pastor Stanley Brownlee.

Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She had one of the most affectionate smiles and beautiful spirits one could ever come across.

This soldier in the Army of the Lord was called home from Labor to Reward on Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Her parents, a son, Demetric A. Poke, and a brother, Wesley Poke, have all preceded her in death.

Brenda's memories will be cherished by her loving husband, Pastor Stanley Brownlee; her children, Latoya (Gregory) Williams, Billy (Shayla) Bolden, Freddie (Gwen) Bolden, Ralph (Kountess) Bolden, Athena. Carlos (Lock), and Justina (Terry) Richardson, Stephanie Brownlee, Justin Brownlee, Kaleena Brownlee, Stanley (Terreva) Brownlee; her grandchildren, Asia Bolden, Tyquavious Bolden, Ja'Qwoya (Rod) Blackledge, Jaria Bolden, Detravian Bolden, Jalen Bolden, Tailyah Bolden, A'Mon Bolden, Jakhiyas Bolden, Destiny Office, Cameri Bolden, Gabrielle Williams, Dallas Bolden, Kayson Bolden, Dakota Bolden, Danielle Lawson, Jamarrion Brownlee, Jade Brownlee, Tristian Richardson, Trinity Richardson, Dylan Hicks, Derrick Brownlee, Japera Brownlee, Justin Brownlee, Jr., Nate, Roe, Kiarra Courtney, Jasmine; five great grandchildren, Tylan Walker, Audimar Blackledge, Harmoni, Kason, Junior III; a sister, Gennette (Johnny) Genwright; brothers, Charles (Mary) Poke, Bruce (Renee) Jackson; sisters-in-law, Sandra Brownlee, Janice (Jodie) Dean, Kathy (Charles) Bryant; brothers-in-law, Larry Brownlee, George (Melanese) Brownlee, Thomas (Joanne) Brownlee, Derrick (Selena) Brownlee; aunts, Annie Pearl Teague, Robbie (Robert) Magnum, Mary Lee Steed; uncles, Travis Teague, James Earl (Elsie) Teague, Willie Teague, Ulysses (Shirley) Teague, Hayward (Gloria) Teague; several friends, Laverne Troutman, Geraldine Fowler, Laura Fugerson, Edythe Washington; and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
