Obituary For Mrs. Nettie Ruth Ingram

Nettie Ruth Pierce Ingram was born in Burke County, Georgia, to the late Flourney and Carrie Pierce. She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Pierce; sisters, Leila Keepler, Ethel Pierce, and Amelia Allen; loving husband, Jesse Lee Ingram, Sr.; and sons, Jesse Lee Ingram, Jr. and Maylor Lyndell Ingram.

Nettie was educated in the Burke County, Georgia, and Anson County School systems. Nettie relocated to North Carolina under the guardianship of Ms. Marie Clark Matthews.

Nettie's unwavering dedication to the First Baptist Church of Ansonville, NC, where she served as a Deaconess, Missionary President, Sunday School teacher, and choir member, is a testament to her selflessness. Her role as the “Mother of the Church” and her valued presence in the community were sources of inspiration for us all.

Nettie's loving and devoted children, Carrie “Diane” Ingram of Greensboro, NC, Norman (Annette) Ingram of High Point, NC, Cynthia Maria (George) Rivers of Albemarle, NC, and Leron Ingram of the home, will forever cherish fond memories of her. Their love and devotion, along with the presence of seven grandchildren, Jessica Ingram, Phillip Ingram, Dr. Shalonda Ingram, Natalie Ingram, Pierce Ingram, and twins, Hailey and Jahmonte Davis, is a testament to the warmth and strength of their bond.

One sister-in-law, Betty Pierce, and her six sons of Los Angeles, California; special family, Annie Ruth Rawls, The Collins, The Strobridge, and The Pierce families; seven nieces, Lillie, Francine, Gloria (Carl), Jackie (Victor), Tiffany, Denise and Brenda (Van); two nephews, Timmy and Hampton; special friends, Bertha Carelock and Emma Barber; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family and friends.

The Homegoing Services will be on Saturday, June 29, 2024, 2:00pm, Smith’s Memorial Chapel, 604 Salisbury Street, Wadesboro, North Carolina. Interment will be in the Ingram Family Plot Cedar Hill AME Zion Church Cemetery, Ansonville, North Carolina.

The Ingram Family will greet family and friends on Saturday, June 29, 2024 from 1:30-2:00pm and at all other times at the family residence.
