Obituary For Clander Young Roberts

Clander Young Roberts was born on April 10, 1941 in Lake Park, Georgia. She was born to the late Ocie Young and the late Joe Young. She departed this life on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at South Georgia Medical Center.

She attended Pinevale High School, and she retired from Levis. She dedicated her life to Concord Baptist Church at an early age. She taught Sunday School and Bible Study. She was married to the late Lanis Roberts, Sr. at an early age, and she was known for one the best Soul Food Cooks around.

She was preceded in death by her mother Ocie Young, father Joe Young, husband Lanis Roberts, Sr., son Lanis Roberts, Jr.; daughter Linda Roberts Thomas, sister Hattie Janet, brothers Joe Young, Jr., Tommy Lee Young, and Tim Young.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her two sons: Raymond Roberts and Earl Roberts; one daughter Eleanor Roberts Gibson (Roy); son-in-law: Richard Thomas; two sisters Geneva Young and Bethine Young; a devoted grandson which she called her “angel” Tony Roy Gibson, Jr.; she raised a niece and nephew as her children Gregory (Buck) Roberts, and Cassandra (Sister) Robinson; devoted cousin Gloria Jean Walls, four devoted friends: Ella Jackson, Betty Register, Virgina Howard, and Lillie Mae Robertson; nine grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many loving friends.

Home going service for Ms. Clander Young Roberts will be held on Sunday, June 30 at 2:00 P. M. at Concord Baptist Church Rev. Walker is the pastor and will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Public viewing will be Friday June 28 from 2:30 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. and Saturday, June 29 from 10:00 A. M. til 6:00 P. M.
