Obituary For Anthony L. Peterson

Mr. Anthony L. Peterson, of Marianna, Florida transitioned from life temporal to life eternal on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Jackson Hospital in Marianna, Florida.

Homegoing Celebration of Life services will be held on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM from the sanctuary of Henshaw Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church located at 2730 Glastel Street in Cottondale, Florida 32431 where the Reverend Freddie Tellis is the pastor.


Interment will be in the Bethlehem African Methodist Episcopal Church Cemetery in Cottondale, Florida.


Mr. Peterson will lie in repose at the church from 10:00 AM until time for the service.


A public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM at Vann Funeral Home.


He leaves to cherish a lifetime of fond, yet precious memories, a loving and devoted family:

Mother: Shelly Peterson of Marianna, Florida


Two Brothers: Franciose Peterson and Marcus Hall both of Marianna, Florida


Seven Aunts: Dorothy McCray and Avis Peterson both of Graceville, Florida; Gloria Russ and Mary Cotton both of Marianna, Florida; Easter Russ and Pamela Davis both of Cottondale, Florida and Angela Russ of California


Four Uncles: Greg Flournoy of Daleville, Alabama; Eddie Russ and Floyd Russ both of Cottondale, Florida and Howard Hall of St. Petersburg, Florida


And a host of nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends.

Tony I know if my father were here whatever you were dealing with he would have been there for you. You were definitely like a son to him and he loved you. We his children and grand children loved you and will definitely miss seeing you when we come in to Cottondale. You were such a good person and always kept a smile on your face. You'll always be in our minds and in our hearts. Shelly, Francois, and Marcus heartfelt condolences from the children of Andrew. Dear God my family is hurting right now so we pray that you please give them all the peace, love, and comfort that they need. In Jesus's name we pray. Amen and Amen.

Tony was like a brother to me. He always knew how to make me smile when I was sad. I called him my Huggy, Buggy Bear. He always had to hug me when I came around. I'll always love and miss him dearly. He was my little brother from another mother. RIP
