Funeral service for Ruben Driver, 81, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 24, 2024, at Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 650 Jeter Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801 with interment in Garden Hills Cemetery, 1218 Frederick Road, Opelika, AL, 36801, Reverend Clifford E. Jones, Pastor and Reverend Melvin Kelley, Eulogist.

Mr. Driver, who passed away Monday, June 17, 2024 at the East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL was born June 6, 1943, in Chambers County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Sunday, June 23, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Driver will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the service.

His precious memory will forever be cherished by: wife, Beatrice Rowell Driver of Opelika, AL; two daughters, Rhonda Butler of Syracuse, NY and Kami (Forson) Evans of Auburn, AL; two sons, Keith (Denise) Butler and Cedric (Pamela) Driver both of Opelika, AL; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister, Lois Dykes of Cleveland, OH; one brother, Walter Driver of Atlanta, GA; one aunt, Cora Carlisle of Brooklyn, NY; one sister-in-law, Nellie Driver of Opelika, AL; two close friends, Charlie (Dorothy) Core of Auburn, AL and Sheaffer (Minnie) Melton of Opelika, AL; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
