Obituary For Te'Nya Janay McKinley

Te'Nya Janay McKinley was born on August 20, 2005, in Youngstown, OH and her light graced our lives for 18 beautiful years. Throughout her journey, Te'Nya's spirit shone brightly, illuminating the lives of those around her. Her unwavering commitment to excellence was her trademark among those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Completing her first year at Thiel College in Greenville PA, Te'Nya made an indelible impact upon the campus. Mike McKinney, Ed.D., Vice President for Student Life and Dean of Students at Thiel, remarked, "We are profoundly heartbroken by the loss of Te'Nya, a vibrant and promising student whose presence was felt by all who knew her,"

A beautiful and vibrant soul, Te'Nya leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by her mother LeTaya (Willie Gray) McKinley and father Tony (Jennifer Eiland) Cochrane. She was a beloved sister to TeMya Wilkins, Sal Battles, Cierra Cochrane, Richard Cochrane, Nylia Cochrane, Anthony Cochrane, Nathaneil Cochrane, and Elijah Cochrane and the precious granddaughter of Pamela Henderson and William McKinley. Her presence was a gift which family and friends will forever hold close.

Tragically, on June 10, 2024, we bid farewell to Te'Nya in a manner that no words can adequately capture. While our hearts ache with the unimaginable loss we now bear, we find solace in the memories we shared, the laughter we experienced, and the love that continues to bind us together. Te'Nya's light may have dimmed too soon, but its glow will forever linger in our hearts.

As Te’Nya crossed the celestial shore, she was greeted by her brother Tayon McKinley, grandmother Mary Delores Hall, and grandfather Purvis Cochrane, each who preceded her into eternity.

Join us as we celebrate the life, the love, and the legacy of Te'Nya Janay McKinley, a soul cherished beyond measure. Together, let us honor her spirit and keep her memory alive in our hearts.

A public viewing and family visitation will take place 10:00 am Wednesday June 19, 2024, at the New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman Street, offering a moment for us to reflect on the beauty of her life.

Yet, as we gather to honor her memory, we invite all who loved her to join us for the Celebration of Life services at 11:00 am where Rev. Kenneth L. Simon will serve as the celebrant. In Te'Nya's memory, let us carry forward the kindness, joy, and compassion she so effortlessly embodied.

Te'Nya may have departed from our earthly realm, but her essence remains forever intertwined with ours, a poignant reminder of the bonds that transcend time and space. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal embrace of love.

At this most intimate time, the beloved family of Te'Nya Janay McKinley elected to entrust the Ministry of Comfort & Care and After-Care Arrangements to the J. E. Washington Funeral Services, 2234 Glenwood Ave., Youngstown OH 330.782.8500

My deepest condolences to your family. I would like to say thank you for raising a beautiful selfless kind and compassionate daughter. My sons had the pleasure of being her classmates at Thiel College . She was God sent . She helped my oldest son get thru the death of his bestfriend in March 2024 . She was so caring and took the time out to spend time with him talking him thru some pretty rough nites . She was truly and still is one of Gods special angels.. The Joiner Family Cleveland,OH
