Obituary For Lester Smith III

Lester Smith III was welcomed to external life in the arms of the Lord our God, our Savior Jesus Christ on the evening hours of June 14, 2024. He was born June 27, 1947, in Cobb Georgia.

Lester was baptized at an early age in Cobb GA. Lester was first married to Betty Ford Smith of Warner Robins, Ga with one son Timothy Eugene Smith. Later he married Jackie Smith. They had two sons (Alton and Manuel Smith from Warner Robins GA. Lester also married Wonda Hodges from Byron GA.

Lester worked for Fair Child Roofing as a roofer for over 45 years in Warner Robins Georgia until retirement,

Lester was much of a loner yet loving and very caring. He enjoyed listening to music, gardening, fishing, and sleeping. Although Lester declined in health recently, he lived almost 77 years of a beautiful and blessed life. He was cared for by his loved ones until his passing. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him. Lester was proceeded in death by both parents: late Lester Smith II and late Aggie Mae Heard; two wives Betty Ford Smith and Wonda Hodges, four sisters: Merlene Smith Rivers Faulk of SC, Goldie Walker of NY, Willie Mae Collins of Detroit, MI, Clara Tyson of Americus, GA; two brothers: Albert Jones of Warner Robins GA and Sammy Williams of Detroit MI.

He leaves to cherish his memories with his three sons Timothy Eugene Smith of Warner Robins GA, Alton (Michelle) Smith of Warner Robins GA, and Manuel Smith of Warner Robins GA. One uncle Oscar (Brenda) Lewis of Albany GA. Nine siblings Jacquelyn (Antonio) Little of Warner Robins GA, Joseph (Laura) Smith of Unadilla GA, Denise (Tony) Whitehead of San Diego CA, Valerie Smith of Missouri, Suzie Lopez of NY, Mary Ann Collins, Johnnie, Freddy and Cecil Williams all of Detroit MI. He leaves to cherish ten grandchildren: Marcus Prator, Jaquinco Smith, Shanda Smith, Brittany Smith, Kimberly Womack, Shniquia Harris, Timothy Womack, Ykeria Rump, Yteria Rump, and Shynia Brown, Alton L. Smith Jr., Tibreeshai Smith, Tybia Smith and Laquisha Lewis; 15 great-grandchildren; His lifetime mate the late Fannie Jackson, His very close friends: Johnnie Ragian (brother from another mother) James Andrews, Jessie Wynn, Robert Brown, Willie Moe, Robert Studd, Rickey Jones, Tommy, Nathanel Styles and many others from Warner Robins GA. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a dedicated care giver Remonia Chapman and, a Devoted/Dedicated Niece Loretta Rivers Robbins Smith.
