Mr. Willie Calvin Young, Jr. was the eighth child born to the late Mr. Willie C. Young, Sr. and the late Mrs. Sarah Thompkins Young on February 18, 1938 in Worth County, Georgia. He was educated in the Worth County Public School System.

At an early age, “Willie C.” gave his life to Christ and joined the Oak Grove Baptist Church, where he was dutiful member of the Church Choir. He also sang with the gospel group, The Traveling Echoes. They traveled from town to town and state to state, singing God’s praises. One of his favorite songs was “Two Wings”.

In his later years, Willie C. always had a word to share with everyone, referring to verses from the Bible and a song to cap it all off. Willie C. is the one that most everyone knew around Worth County for cement finishing and carpentry. He truly was a “Jack Of Many Trades.”

Willie C. gave up this busy walk of life on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at home surrounded by family. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Donald Ray Roberts; sisters, Elzena Kearney, Rosa Gray, Julia Love, Elizabeth Walker, Thelma Burgess, Dorothy Rentz; brothers, Abraham Young, Charlie Young, Robert Young, and John Young.
