Obituary For Peter Earl "Chy" Vaughner

Mr. Peter Earl Vaughner, more affectionately known as “Chy” by his family and friends, was born May 24, 1957, to the late Mr. Peter Lee Vaughner in Thomaston, Upson County, GA.

He was educated in the public school of Upson County and attended Upson High School. When he reached early manhood, he found employment at the Georgia Green House as a gardner. He attended church at Outreach Ministry in Thomaston, GA. Peter had a heart for children and the children loved him in return. He loved his family dearly and was willing to help anyone he could.

During his leisure time, he loved drag racing and fast driving. He had a love for cars and gave them all a name, Voltran and Wind Dancer just to name a few. He loved music, the louder the better. He loved all music, but his favorite was a combination of rap and rock and roll.

He was preceded in death by his parents. On Friday, June 7, 2024, the Lord called his name. His spirit took flight and went home to rest.

He leaves to cherish his memory five sisters, Ms. Brenda Vaughner of Thomaston, GA, Ms. Ruthell Vaughner, Ms. Mary Vaughner and Ms. Diane ( Charles) Hargitt all of Stockbridge, GA. Mrs. Peggy (Alvin) Mitchell of Prosper, TX; three brothers, Mr. Charlie Vaughner and Mr. Richard (Gwen) Vaughner both of Thomaston, GA, Mr. Frankie (Akeba) Howell of Yemassee, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Fly High my friend , Chy was a very close friend of mine, we were both young and venture seekers and enjoyed borrowing his brothers car and riding around jamming out to Mothers Finest. Always felt welcomed when I visited his home on the hill.As the song goes , there is no other.... God speed Chy. Family comforting prayers to you all. Tommy Burkett
