Mike Delane Adams Jr.

Before we’re formed in our mother’s womb the Lord knows us. He calls us by name and has a predetermined destiny and purpose for our lives. A destiny and purpose, that’s often unknown until we truly begin to live. November 3, 1997, was the beginning of something great when Mike Sr. and LaShan Upshaw were blessed with a baby boy, Mike Delane Adams Jr. In 2001 Mike would gain a bonus dad, Wayne Tinsley Sr., and became attached to him from the very start. Mike Jr. was put here to be and show love and had an enjoyable childhood and a good upbringing. In his early years, he spent a lot of time with his grandmothers Rosie and Vera and was the object of their affection. In 2011, at the age of 13, Mike willingly accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior and was baptized, at Oasis Church International, under the leadership of Wayne Babb and Willie Sutton. As destiny would have it, Mike met his best friend and future love of his life, Lauren Allen in middle school, reuniting with her years later as young adults.

Mike came into the world full of life and energy and never slowed down. He brought so much joy & laughter to his family and the people who knew and loved him. Mike played baseball, basketball and football throughout childhood and in high school. He received most of his education in the Phenix City school system, but later transferred to Russell County High School where he was a 2016 graduate. After high school he went on to attend Arkansas Baptist College, where he played football. He would later return home to step into a new role, as father, to son Kyrie Wilson Adams. Later welcoming a baby girl Kylani Adams, in 2022. He lived life on purpose, and enjoyed simple things like family, fast cars, fishing, riding 4wheelers, and sports.

On Sunday June 9, 2024, Mike was unexpectedly called home to be with the Lord. His passing left a void so great it cannot be described in words. Yet, we looked to the Lord who is our comforter – may he lead us to the rock that is higher than I. Mike is preceded in death by paternal grandparents Joseph and Vera Adams and his maternal grand-father Jim Paulk. Left to cherish his memories are those who loved and adored him most: children Kyrie and Kylani; parents Wayne & LaShan Tinsley and Mike Adams Sr. (Debra); siblings Malik, Makayla, Jakiya, Abria, and Joseph; grandparents Rosie (Nathaniel) Bussey and Eddie Warren; great-grandfather Edward Williams; bonus siblings Alicia, Warren, Tiffanie, Wayne Jr., Briana, Keiasha, & Jayda; special aunt Jennifer Warren, fiancé Lauren Allen, God-parents Pastor Robert and Molly Battle, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
