Obituary For WC Simmons

W.C. Simmons was born January 11, 1952, to the late Willie Joseph & Lorean Wilder Simmons in Sallis, MS. He departed this life June 6, 2024.

W.C. was educated in Attala County School District. He married Mary A. Thompson & from this union 6 children were born. W.C. Jr. & Christopher preceded him in death.

In 1976 they moved to Detroit, MI where he was employed by GMC. In 1994, they relocated back to Mississippi.

W.C. aka "Doug" had a very kind spirit & was indeed a people person. He always had a reply to other's comments & did it with a smile. In his early years he enjoyed playing basketball and shooting pool. He was also a Master of Checkers. He loved traveling, especially if he was driving. He looked forward to retiring, even though he never really retired.

He was quick to assist anyone in need whether he knew you or not. He spoiled & loved his family. He kept his lawn manicured & most Friday Nights was "DATE NIGHT" with his Beloved Wife, Mary. W.C. endeavored to instill values/morals into his children and others. Gone But Not Forgotten.

W.C. was preceded in death by 5 sisters: Dora Burt, Ella, Mayzelle, Katherine & Mary and 8 Brothers: Lee Edward, Earnest, Arthur, Willie Lee, Willie C, James Franklin, John Ed & Claude Simmons.

He leaves to cherish his memories: His Devoted Wife of 52 years Mary; 3 daughters: Laurie (Felix) Gomez of Detroit, MI, Marie & Camille of Atlanta, GA; One son, Kegan Simmons of Atlanta, GA; 8 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grandchildren, 4 Sisters: Emma, Susie (Alvin Joe), Mattie (Alonzo), Ella Jean (George), and a host of nephews, nieces, family & friends.

PLACE OF SERVICE: Faith Temple Church, Kosciusko, MS

DATE OF SERVICE: Saturday 06/15/2024 at 2:00 p.m.

INTERMENT: Bethlehem Cemetery, Sallis, MS

VIEWING: Friday 06/14/2024 at 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
