"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." 2 Corinthians 5:1 KJV We can stand in sorrow, at the cemetery, next to the grave – site, and still shout and celebrate, all because of What We Know. And it's because of What We Know, that when it comes to death, we act differently. It's because of What We Know, that we sorrow not, as others who have no hope. We are confident... and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. As believers, when it comes to death, we know some things. We know "we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens." We know Jesus said..., I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: we know Jesus says, "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." To the family of Bruce Christian, lift up your eyes unto the hills from where your help comes from. For we know that this our beloved brother is now with the Lord. Why shouldest we be afraid to die, who hope is to live by dying? With heartfelt sympathy, Your Brother In Christ Frederick T. Demps, Pastor Emeritus
