Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Mallory Hall, will be at 12:00 Noon on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Antioch Baptist Church. Family visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. on Friday at the church.

Born in Talladega County on May 22, 1928, to the proud parents of Millage Gilbert Mallory and Jossie N. (Burt) Mallory. Martha departed this life June 6, 2024, in exchange for eternal life.

Growing up with her oldest sister, Annie Bell Jefferson Pointer, brought so many joyous moments. As a big sister she was very inspiring to her younger sister. Their love was relentless toward each other. During visits they would sit-up all night talking and reminiscing about old times.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Hall Jr.; parents, Millage & Jossie Mallory; sister, Annie Bell Pointer; grandson, Cedrick Woods; loving brothers & sisters-in-law, Clinton, Sylvester, John, Mack, Willie James, Curtis Hall, Leavie Jemison and Rita Brown; one step-son, Cecil Hall; sons-in-law, Fernandis McGlothin, Jr. and Eugene Posey.

Martha completed her education at Carver High School, graduating with the Class of 1947.

After completing high school, she later married the late Andrew Lindsey and the late Melvin Hall, Jr. with these two marriages seven children were born.

She was a very caring mother who spent most of her life as a homemaker until she later became employed at General Times. With much determination to advance her education she received a certificate in Hospice and Homecare Training. Thereafter, her employment was with Northside Nursing Home and Etowah County Home Health Care. Martha received numerous of recognitions during her years as a Nursing Assistant. Martha retired and served as caregiver for her mother.

At an early age she confessed Christ at Antioch Baptist Church. Her quality of life was exemplified through faithfulness to the local church and through kindness toward neighbors in the community. Her servanthood was shown as a Trustee wife, choir member and prayer team. Singing in the ABC choir was one of her enjoyable moments until her health no longer allowed the involvement. She loved her Pastor(s) and church family. During many years attending Antioch Baptist Church, she was Pastored by Deyampert, Granger, Hoyt, Lewis and the present Pastor Larry G. Weathers. The connection with Pastor Weathers was like no other. She loved him and wanted to see him even when she no longer could attend services. Visitation by Pastor Weathers was never unnoticed, she would say over and over again, “Weathers came today.” How could one forget such a Godly connection!

Martha was a loving mother to seven: Bobby “Scobo” (Charlotte Allen) Lindsey, Gladys McGlothin, Margaret Hall, Joyce Woods Posey, Jimmy (Janice) Hall, Bruce Hall, Sharon Russell Hall; bonus child, Xavier (Pernecia) Douthard; grandchildren, Josie Benford, Deborah Logan, Kenya Gohston, Arrione Gilmer, Ebony Wilkey, Fernandis McGlothin III, Derek Hall, Kelvin, Ulandaus Woods, Jemima Davis, Latoya Duckett, Breanna Rubit, Braylen Hall, Roderick Russell; 18 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Junnie, Georgianne and Emma Hall; a host of aunts, uncles, nephews, and cousins.
