Obituary For Ralph Scales

Ralph Scales 83 of Eden, NC passed on Saturday, June 8, 2024. Public viewing will be held Saturday, June 15, 2024, 12 noon - 7:00 p.m. at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. - 1:30 p.m., Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, Eden, NC with service beginning at 1:30 p.m. Interment will follow at Moyertown-Scalestown Cemetery, Eden, NC.

With heavy hearts, we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of Ralph Scales, a man whose presence brought joy and warmth to all who knew him. Ralph’s journey began in Eden, NC where he was born to the late Annie Mae Scales and Watt Moyer, Sr. His legacy is one of love, faith and unwavering dedication to family and community.

Ralph’s early years were marked by his education at Douglass High School, where he laid the foundation for a life characterized by hard work and determination. He further honed his skills, earning a Certificate of Mechanics from Rockingham Community College, setting the stage for a successful career. For many years, Ralph lent his expertise to Mohawk Industries in Eden, NC where his dedication and professionalism left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of working alongside him. His commitment to excellence served as an inspiration to his colleagues and peers.

Throughout his life, Ralph remained a steadfast member of Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church, where his faith in God served as a guiding light. His unwavering devotion to his church community enriched the lives of those around him, leaving an enduring legacy of spiritual strength and compassion. Ralph was not only a beloved son, brother, and friend but also a cherished father figure to his nieces and nephews. His love knew no unds, his guidance and his support were a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.

In his leisure time, Ralph was a passionate supporter of the UNC Tarheels and the Carolina Panthers, his enthusiasm bringing joy to countless game days and gatherings. His love for sports was matched only by his love for fellowship and conversation, always eager to engage in lively discussion with those around him. One of Ralph’s defining characteristics was his meticulous attention of his appearance, a reflection to his pride and self-respect. His sharp wit, warm smile and impeccable style endeared him to all who had the pleasure of his company.

Ralph was preceded in death by his siblings: Sisters; Doris Holland, Gloria Strong, Olivia Madison, Colene Scales, Shirley Ann Scales, Peggy Moyer, Marion Wilson, Linda Artis, Henrietta Artis. Brothers; James Scales, Howard Scales, Ofus (Sonny) Scales, Lewis Scales and Watt Moyer, Jr.

Though Ralph may no longer walk among us, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of his many relatives and friends. As we gather to honor his life, let us take comfort in the knowledge that his spirit will continue to inspire us each and everyday. In celebration of Ralph’s life, let us hold dear the memories we shared and the lessons he imparted. May his legacy serve as a beacon of light, guiding us through the darkness with love, faith and unwavering strength.

Rest in peace, dear Ralph, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
