George Frank Salmon was born March 14, 1949 to the late (Dimple) Louise Smart and raised by her and the late Charley Smart Sr. George's journey was marked with love, dedication and service.
George was drafted into the US Army in 1967 right after he graduated from high school. A proud Veteran of the US Army, George's commitment to duty was unwavering. George had a strong belief in GOD and was personally affiliated with the Baptist denomination.
George departed this life May 26, 2024 at home in Knoxville, TN. He was preceded in death by his mother (Dimple) Louise Smartt, his siblings Ernest one Turner, Virginia Merritt, Rosa Lee Smartt, Early Cooper Jr., Charley Smart Jr. and Larry Williams.
He is survived by his wife Sonya Salmon. His daughter Consists Davis Salmon, his son Fernandez Salmon. He has 2 grandchildren, Brandon Daniel Salmon and Dakota Daniel Salmon. His wife and mother of his children Earnestine Salmon. His siblings Betty Moseley, Mary Bell and Claudette Smartt. His beloved nephew and niece Louis Moseley and Amy Smartt.
George's memory will be forever held dear by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. George leaves behind a legacy of kindness and servitude that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in heavenly peace.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 1:30-2:00 p.m. with the Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. at the Unity Mortuary Chapel.
The final resting place will be held at the East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 8:30 a.m.
