Obituary For Arnold Dewayne Keith, Sr.

A celebration of life for Mr. Arnold Dewayne “Dude” Keith, Sr., 72, of LaFayette will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Terry's Mortuary Chapel. Interment will be in the Bethel Church Cemetery, Alpine. Visitation will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Monday, June 10, 2024, at the funeral home.

Arnold Dewayne Keith was born on December 28, 1951, in Talladega County, Alabama to Eashmon Keith and Viola Melinda (née Cole) Keith. He would be most commonly known as Dewayne. On June 5, 2024, Mr. Keith traded time for eternity. He was preceded in passing by his parents, Eashmon and Viola Keith; and two sisters, Judith Keith and Nancy Garrett.

Mr. Keith committed his life to Christ at a young age and united with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. After relocating to LaFayette, Alabama he found a new home to worship at Powell Chapel United Methodist Church. Dewayne was a graduate of Talladega County Training School. Upon completion of his education, he dedicated thirty years of service to BF Goodrich Tires in Opelika, Alabama.

He is survived by his devoted wife Gwendolyn Keith of LaFayette, Alabama; children, Reverend Dewayne (Belinda) Keith, Jr. of Talladega, Alabama, LaQuetta “Speedy” Williams of Anniston, Alabama, Tiffany Keith (James) Coleman and Anthony Keith of Opelika, Alabama, Teresa Isom of Talladega, Alabama, Michelle Warren of Opelika, Ricky Williams of Anniston, Alabama and Lisa Williams of Opelika, Alabama; twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; four sisters, Faye (Jerry) Collins, Kathy Keith, Shirley Brown and Betty Fomby of Alpine, Alabama; four brothers, Archie (Geraldine) Keith of Munford, Alabama, Michael (Jannie) Keith of Alpine, Alabama, Bernard Keith of Atlanta, Georgia and Frank Polk Fomby; one uncle, Dr. Leonard Cole, Sr. of Alpine, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, LaFayette family and friends.
