Obituary For Arthur Fitts

Services for Mr. Arthur Fitts, 95, of 173 Mixson Street Allendale, SC will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Allendale Community Funeral Home with Minister Michael Lawton officiating. Entombment will be conducted at Beaufort National Cemetery.

Mr. Fitts entered into eternal rest on Monday, June 3, 2024 at his residence.

Family will be receiving friends on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 5 -7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Friends may call at his residence or at the funeral home.

To The Family, There are no words for the legacy of Arthur Fitts. He left an indelible imprint on my life. I became acquainted with him when my mother (The late Evelyn Ulmer Henry) and I wanted to ensure that my father's (The Late MSG (Ret).Taft Henry) membership was current with The 24th Infantry Regiment Combat Team Association. He researched our request and informed us that "he was indeed current!" "There was no problem with his membership!" From that day until my father passed, Arthur Fitts,called and talked to my father, mother and to me. When my mother passed, who called me to express his condolences, Arthur Fitts! He wanted to know what could do for the family. This was the Arthur Fitts, I knew. He was always concerned about the well-being of others. In 2023, I finally met Arthur Fitts, face-to-face. It was like a family reunion! When the President of the 24th Infantry Regiment Combat Team Association, Samuel Jenkins, introduced us we both said: "I know you!" We were planning for the 24th RCT Association's Reunion. He was "laser focused" on his assignment. He,along with Samuel Jenkins, were truly ambassadors for the Association. We will surely miss him, but we know that he has earned his place with "The Master," and he has begun his assignment in Heaven. Although, he is no longer physically on earth with us, his shining personality and winning smile will live in our hearts forever.----Jannette Henry-Davenport
