Obituary For Emery Mizell

Emery Lynn Mizell was born on October 18, 2006, at Bronx Lebanon Hospital to parents Tony Mizell and Trisha Almodovar. She is the oldest of five children. Emery was a great big sister to her brothers and sisters. Emery, affectionately known as Emma, Emmy, or EmmaDaDon, assisted with her younger siblings by cooking and caring for them if needed. She was undoubtedly one of the brightest lights to her parents and had such a beautiful soul, with a smile to light up any room.

Emery was completing her senior year at Metropolitan Soundview High School and was very excited about graduating in June. She wanted to study to be a Nurse/Medical Assistant. She loved to do hair and lashes, but music was her first love. She desired to be one of the biggest rap stars to come out of the Bronx, New York. She was extremely talented and on her way to making her dreams come true.

Aside from her music, Emery loved being around her family and friends the most. She was the life of the party and would always put a smile on your face. She had the sweetest heart and would do anything for those that she loved. She was such an amazing person who was loyal until the end. Although her journey on earth was rerouted to Heaven, her spirit, energy, and laughter still lives on in those she loved.

Emma was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Monique, in 2014. She is survived by her loving parents, Tony and Trisha; two sisters, Gianna and Toni; and brothers Noah and Josiah. Grandfather Tony Holder and step-Grandmother affectionately known as Momma Keisha. Her Uncles, Michael, Lavaughn and Luke. Aunts Shanique, Shaquana, Tasha, and Tamika, Kyamonie and great-aunt Eyvette. Emma’s close first cousins Shaadyamond, Tati, Perrion, Quadir, Siy’Kemah, Jamell, Deborah, Serenity, Prince, Zye’Kis, Sae’quan, Lah’Zae, Lia, Savannah, Saliyah, Kiara, Sanaa, God’Lee, Kapri, Michel, Samahjee, True, Zy’ira, Keheir, and a host of other family and friends. She will be forever loved and celebrated in our hearts.

I'm sorry for your loss and I pray the Holy Spirit may comfort the family during this time. Call on the Lord when you're in pain and he will be there for you. I just found the video on YouTube and live near the area. This is so tragic.

Emma you were such a pure and genuine soul the sweetest soul ever. I'll never forget when I met you my sophomore year and how quickly I adored you every time you would post your music on your Instagram story I was so hyped because you were so good.. i'm glad I gave you your flowers and offered my support while you were alongside earth. It's been weird to even process that you're gone we weren't even so much close but every time we would see each other you always gave me a hug and it came so naturally too. May you rest in paradise and sending love to your family! -Natalie
