Obituary For Johnnie W. Allen

Johnnie W. Allen, 99, of Eden, NC passed Friday, May 24, 2024. Public viewing will be held Friday, May 31, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Perry-Spencer Funeral Home, Eden, NC . The family will receive friends, Saturday June 1, 2024, from 12:30 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. at Monument of Faith, 319 Henry St, Eden, NC with funeral service begining at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Cemetery, 1658 NC-135, Eden, NC.

On Friday, May 24, 2024, the Lord called our daddy, Johnnie William Allen “Jack” home to rest. He was born on October 25, 1924 in Leaksville, NC to the late Mary Elizabeth Allen.

He attended Douglas High School and was previously a member of Gospel Light Holiness Church in Axton, Virginia.

He enlisted in the United States Army on November 11, 1946 and served until November 10, 1949, receiving an Honorable Discharge.

After leaving the Army, he worked several different jobs from delivering food and prescription drugs for a local drug store, to the Central Telephone Company and finally retiring ater thirty-eight years of service for the United States Postal Service.

On May 26, 1949, he married the late Margaret Elizabeth Scales and to their union five children were born.

He was preceded in death by one of his precious daughters, Elizabeth Ann Allen “Cookie” and one of his amazing brothers, Joe Willie Williams (Frenzola).

He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter; Jackie Richardson of Greensboro, NC, three sons; Johnny Allen of Kernersville, NC, Roger Allen (Jackie) of Lexington, NC, Douglas Allen (Chery) of Suffolk, VAl, one brother; Joe Louis Broadnax and sister, Mary Ann Jamison both of Eden, NC, nine grandchildren, three great grandchildren, niees, nephews and othe relatives.
