Bishop John Hilton was born March 4th, 1964 in Jefferson County to the now late Leslie Gibbons Hilton

John departed this life Thursday, May 23, 2024 in Columbus, GA

Preceded by his mother Leslie Merriweather, grandparents John Willie and Idella Gibbons

Service of Celebration will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at the Hardeman Springfield Baptist Church, 5116 Belmont Road, Louisville, GA.

John Thomas Hilton Sr. was a Sergeant in the United States Army as a 13 Bravo Field Artillery Crewmen and also did a tour in Desert Storm.

John, known as “Mr. John, John” and “Pee Wee” he was a serial entrepreneur, owning and operating several businesses across his lifetime, to include Brighter Tomorrow Daycare, Christian books and rentals store, Lite Accessories, and more. In his later years, he developed John Hilton Properties and Heavy Equipment rentals, and he was the Senior pastor of Faith, Hope, and Love Ministry. However, his true work, was extending a helping hand to anybody in need. John Hilton lived a humble, selfless life of a Humanitarian, and missionary.

Survivors include his loving children: John Thomas Hilton Jr., Dallas TX and Ashley Maria Rodriguez, Columbus, GA; Grand Children: Alicia Marie Velencia Rodriguez and Anthony Enrique Rodriguez Jr., Columbus GA; His stepfather Stanley Merriweather, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; his siblings: Bonnie Hilton, Louisville, GA, Larry (Rita) Hilton, Swainsboro, GA,

Elizabeth Grant, Hephzibah, GA, Murray Hilton, Jacksonville, FL, Isaiah Gibbons, Augusta, GA, Wallace (Bernice) Gibbons and Clinton Lowery, Louisville, GA; his uncle: John (Mamie) Terrell, Jonesboro, GA; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
