Obituary For Thomas Carl Allen

Thomas Carl Allen, 85 of Washington, DC (formerly of Eden, NC) passed, Sunday, May 5, 2024. Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, 12 Noon at Allen Family Cemetery, 3268 Price Road, Eden, NC.

Mr. Thomas “Carl” Allen, born May 4, 1939 to the late Thomas Starling Allen and Christine Allen of Eden, NC (formerly Leaksville). He departed this life on May 5, 2024 in Washington, DC.

From high school, Thomas went on to graduate cum laude with a Bachelor of Science from Johnson C. Smith University and later a Master of Education from Howard University. In the U.S. Army, Thomas was a medical lab Histologist and as a veteran, he continued his career at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and later Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC. Where he retired from both.

Thomas loved photography, nature and traveling and was happiest when he was able to enjoy all of his passions at once. He captured so many memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

Thomas was also predeceased by his son, Tafaraji Carl Allen.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his daughter; Kimya Allen Lewis (Terrence), brothers; Norris Allen (Dolena) and Christopher Allen (Carol). Granddaughter: Taylor Allen and many extended family and friends that will miss him dearly.
