Obituary For Elizabeth Jackson

Elizabeth Jackson, 93, was born on July 21, 1930, in Quitman, GA to Victoria and Effie Jackson Sr. She attended Brooks County High School where she was the assistant captain of the girls’ basketball team, ran track and later graduated.

In 1964, Elizabeth moved to Lorain, Ohio where she worked as an Assembly Engineer, and later retired from the Ford Motor Company, Lorain Assembly Plant. During her long-time residency in Lorain, she became head of the Entertainment Committee Ministry of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Lorain, she volunteered with the Lorain City School System, helping students to read and write also, an active member of the United Autoworkers Union. Elizabeth enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and traveling.

Elizabeth later moved to Riverview, Florida in 2014 with her youngest son Ellison Jackson, where she lived out the remainder of her life until God called her home the afternoon of May 4, 2024.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Victoria and Effie Jackson Sr., sister Eddie Lee Paige, brother John Jackson Sr., sister Victoria Binion (Tolly), brother Effie Jackson Jr. (Jackie), brother Israel Jackson, two eldest sons, Sylvester Reddick, and Israel Reddick Sr. She is survived by her daughters Wanda Jackson of Cleveland, Ohio, Marion Jackson of Elyria, Ohio and her son Ellison Jackson of Riverview, Florida, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Home Going Service for Elizabeth Jackson will be held Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM – Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Quitman, Georgia. The Home Going Services will be held via Facebook Live streaming at BTW Funeral Services.

My name is Tammie and I was Ms.Elizabeth care take before she transitioned... She was a hoot to work with.. The stories that she would tell would just brighten you... She would tell me all about how she won't the basketball championship game and how she did the jitterbug dance at the school prom and so much more. Well your in heaven now so you can play basketball and do the jitterbug all day long. 🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾

Auntie Teenie we're going to miss you being full of energy and telling us stories about Great Grandparents! Auntie called her Dad "The Old Man" and how he didn't play around and if I was born back then that I would have a Tough Time!
