Graveside service for Mary Benford, 79, of Opelika, AL, will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Evergreen Cemetery, 1409 Monroe Avenue, Opelika, AL, 36801, Bishop Johnny Hill will officiate.

Ms. Benford, who passed away Thursday, April 25, 2024 in Opelika, Alabama, was born March 17, 1945, in Lee County, Alabama.

Public viewing will be Wednesday, May 8, 2024 from 2:00 p.m.- 6:00 p.m.

She leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters, Ella Benford, Mattie Mae Benford both of Opelika, AL and Ruth Benford of Wetumpka, AL; one sister-in-law, Thelma Benford of Auburn, AL; two adoring nieces, Nadine Porter of Birmingham, AL and Shirley Benford of Washington, D.C.; one caring great nephew, Desmond Andrews; a beloved cousin, Walter (Deloris) Varner; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
