Dianne Adair Coleman, 80, was summoned to be with the Lord on April 12, 2024, after a lengthy illness.

Dianne had been a faithful member of St. Andrew AME Church since her early childhood, as did her entire family.

Born to the union of the late Holloway and Essie Adair, Dianne was the only daughter, loved and cherished by three brothers; Charles and Robert preceded Dianne in death.

The Adair family lived in LeMoyne Gardens where Dianne attended Porter Jr. High School, later to matriculate at Mitchell High School.

In 1961, Dianne and the late Norman Robert Coleman joined in holy matrimony until his death in 2013. They were loving parents to an only child, Karen ReNee’, who courageously cared for her mother throughout her illnesses.

Dianne was employed with Union Planters Bank and the Memphis Housing Authority, Section 8 Division, from which she retired. She often spoke of the gratifying feeling of matching clients with suitable housing coupled with caring landlords. She knew her clients well, their children, and often gifted them with holiday and birthday gifts.

A loyal volunteer in heart and soul, Dianne gave tireless hours of dedicated service to numerous agencies and causes that included: St. Andrew AME Church Food Pantry, MIFA, National Cancer Association, Sisters for Life (Against Domestic Violence), and the National Civil Rights Museum and its Annual Freedom Awards.

Dianne was a breast cancer survivor who passionately supported and received support from the STAAR Breast Cancer Support Group.

Dianne loved her church and church family! She was a member of the Dorcas Unit of the Women’s Missionary Society, Usher Board #1, as well as the liturgical dance ministry, Ministry in Motion, until she became too ill.

An avid bowler for many years, Dianne was a longtime member of bowling teams that traveled and bowled at the old Roller Way and Cherokee Bowling Lanes.

Dianne leaves to cherish her memory and legacy, her daughter, Karen ReNee’ Coleman; surviving brother, Holloway Adair (Jackie) of North Carolina; sisters-in-law, Margaret Sue Adair, Margaret Coleman Walls (LT), and MarVin Coleman Aldridge; and brother-in-law, Clarence Coleman, all of Memphis.

Dianne will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as longtime friends, Claudine Stansbury, Ed Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. George Nichols, and godsons, Kevin Dillihunt, Kelvin Street, and Rodney Adair.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at R.S. Lewis & Sons 2944 Walnut Grove Road, Memphis, TN 38111. Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 11:00am at St Andrew AME Church 867 S Parkway E, Memphis, TN 38106

Internment will be in West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill Irene Road, Memphis, TN 38125
