Obituary For Markayla Aiyonna Roberts

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” Psalm 23: 1 – 6

Markayla Aiyonna Roberts was born July 6, 2009 at Allendale County Hospital, Fairfax, South Carolina, to Tasia Roberts.

Markayla was a Freshman at Allendale - Fairfax High School who excelled in her studies. She was an honor student, and she was a member of the Beta Club. Her current GPA was 4.5, and she was ranked #1 of her Freshman Class. Markayla was an overachiever, who believed in success and nothing less. Markayla was a proud cadet of the Allendale - Fairfax High School JROTC Program, and she was recently promoted to Sergeant. She was always dressed neatly in her uniform, and she always participated in all activities.

KK, as she was affectionately called, was full of life, fun, and she had a smile that could brighten any room. During her leisure time, KK enjoyed painting, drawing, listening to music, watching Spiderman, but most importantly spending time with her family.

Our loved one has been taken, but God has gained another angel. On Saturday, April27, 2024, Markayla was called home to be with the Lord at Allendale County Hospital.

Markayla, KK was always pleasant to be around. As a toddler, I never had to correct her behavior. At Church of God, Varnville, she sat next to her Uncle Larry and me, with her little sister on her lap. I will miss this little Angel who amongst us. Uncle Kenneth
