Obituary For Tonya M. Moyer

On Friday, April 26, 2024, Tonya Machelle Moyer, 56, of Pony PL., Martinsville, VA transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life at her residence. She was born February 1, 1968, in Martinsville, VA to Doris King Wade and the late Clinford L. Moyer. In addition to her father, Tonya was preceded in death by a brother, Clinford Donell Moyer.

At an early age, Tonya accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and became a member of Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ. She was employed by Novatech Inc. until her health began to decline. Tonya was a 1986 graduate of Martinsville High School.

Those left to cherish her memory includes one daughter, Chantelle Moyer of Martinsville, VA; one son, Jonathan Moyer of Martinsville, VA; her mother, Doris King Wade of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren; one brother, Walter Lamont Moyer (Lawanda) of Charlotte, NC; fiancé, Barry Fitzgerald of Martinsville, VA; sister-in-law, Marilyn “Darlene” Dallas Moyer of Richmond, VA; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

A visitation service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. with the funeral service at 3 p.m. at Shiloh Way of the Cross Church of Christ, 938 Brookdale St., Martinsville with Presiding Bishop Early Dillard, Eulogist. Interment will follow at Carver Memorial Gardens, 869 Parkway Dr., Martinsville, VA.

A public viewing will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Hairston Funeral Home, 301 Fayette St., Martinsville, VA between the hours of 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. Other times, the family will be receiving friends at the home, 123 Pony Pl., Martinsville, VA. Live streaming of the funeral service will be available at Hairston Funeral Home live via Facebook.
