Katie M. Shamberger was born October 1, 1932 in Robbins North Carolina. She was raised by her grandparents Laura Missie Poole and James Wesley Maness. She transitioned to eternal rest on April 24, 2024.
After graduating from Pitney High School. Katie got engaged and married Elmer E. Shamberger on August 23, 1952. Later moved to Greensboro NC. Katie attended Interior Design College, worked for Sears Robuck, where she later retired. Came out of retirement, and started working for Burns Security.
Katie was a member of Trinity A.M.E Zion Church also supported her hometown church Little Oak Church of God in Christ Jesus. Member of the Gospel choir, Cecil Bishop club, Trinitarian club and October birthday calendar, club. Also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 39.
She was proceeded in death by her husband: Elmer E. Shamberger. son: Jeffery E. Shamberger. parents: Betty Arsie Maness Davis and Russell Lee Johnson. brothers: James Davis, Waldo Davis, Wayland Davis, Albert C. Davis. Sister: Barbara Inez Person. To cherish her precious memory, daughters: Teresa Shamberger Douglas, and Angela Shamberger. grandchildren, LaTonya Jordan, Toran Shamberger, Sheika Shamberger, Andre d’Angelo Douglas (Ruby), Kyle Douglas, Ivan Milliken (LeKasha), Nicolas Thacker, Kaitlyn Johnson, great grandchildren: Hadiya Mims, Amaya Douglas, Layla Douglas, Allaiya Harris. Katie is survived by her brother Claudius Davis, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends, are left to mourn their loss. She will be greatly missed by her special friends Suzanne Jeffers, Emma J. Marcus and Parthenia Shoffner.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 12:30pm Trinity AMEZion Church 631 East Florida Street Greensboro, North Carolina. 12pm Visitation. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park 6000 Gate City Boulevard Greensboro, North Carolina.

I will always remember the lively talk Cousin Katie and I had over the years. And before that she and my mother: Jewell had the the lively phone calls for years. I will miss her voice and laugh. Theresa and Angela your mother was so loved and a good and faithful servant. I will you to have those lively talks as well. Love to the family Katie loved so much. Peace to you all!
