Obituary For Ulysses Henderson

Ulysses Henderson was born October 15, 1947 to the late Willie Henderson and the late Eulator
Patterson – Henderson in Fairfax, South Carolina.

His faith and belief in God was expressed at an early age, when he united with membership at St.
Phillips Baptist Church. “Tooty” as he was affectionately called, attended service regularly with his family, until his health began to decline.

Ulysses shared a happy childhood with his (4) brothers and (2) sisters.


He was a graduate of Fairfax Training School, Class of 1967. After graduation, Ulyssess attended
Denmark Technical College, and he received a Law Enforcement Certification.


He was joined in holy matrimony to the love of his life, the late Alice Henderson.


He became employed with the United States Postal Service, and he also worked part -time with
Fairfax Fire Department. Ulysses retired after 29 years of dedicated service with the Fairfax Police
Department.


In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in by (1) Brother: Levell Henderson; and (1)
Sister: Jessie Lee Allen.


On Wednesday, April 24th, Ulysses answered the Master’s call in the comfort of his home.


He leaves to cherish fond memories of his astonishing legacy are: (1) Sisters: Wilhelmenia Coath;
Fairfax, SC; (3) Brothers: Deacon Lonza (Linbern) Henderson, Sr.; Waynesboro, GA; James
(Stacey) Henderson; Newark, NJ; Leon Henderson; Fairfax, SC; (1) Aunt: Ann Patterson;
Waynesboro, GA; (1) Sister – In – Law: Alanora Henderson; Brooklyn, NY; (1) Brother – In – Law:
Joseph Allen; St. Albans, NY. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

He was such a good man and father figure to so many children; including my son. Family, just lean on the Lord for strength to endure this huge loss.
