Maurice Glendale Smith was born October 29, 1980, in Louisville, Kentucky to proud parents Sandra Smith and Claude Gordon.
Maurice was educated in the Jefferson County Public School System, and attended Fern Creek High School. He chose to by-pass the daily activities of attending class on a regular basis, but later, realized the importance of an education, and obtained his GED.
Reece, as he was affectionately called, loved his Marvel Comic Books, in his youth. As a child, he was a dreamer, and knew that one day he would be rich. He had confidence in himself, and believed that he could do anything he put his mind to. He believed that he would one day be in the studio with his little cousin, rapping, throwing jokes, and being a well renowned comedian, traveling on the comedy circuit.
Reece was all over the place when it came to making decisions about what interested him that he would focus on and pursue. He moved to Florida and received his certificate from Bartending School. He also received his Auto Mechanic License. Reece felt that there wasn't anything that he could not do. He was always full of possibilities.
Family was very important to Reece, and most important was his three sons, Maurice Gordon, and twin boys Kyrese Smith and Kyrell Smith. He also enjoyed spending time with his four brothers, Dwain Castle, Jonnie Smith, Jerome Smith, and Justin Stepp; and his sister, Elise Gordon. He was a son, father, brother, uncle, and a friend to many.
On Monday, April 8, 2024, Maurice Glendale Smith departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Claude Gordon, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.
Maurice was preceded in death by his oldest son, Maurice Smith, and mother, Sandra Smith.
