Betty J. Jones, 71, passed Monday, April 15, 2024 in Columbus, GA.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm EST, Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 3755 South Seale Road, Phenix City, AL with Brother Jimmy Buford, officiating. Burial to follow in Green Acres Cemetery. Public viewing is Monday, April 22, 2024 from 3 - 5 p.m. EST.
Betty Joyce Jones was born August 21, 1952, to the late George Davis and Elizabeth Billups in Phenix City,AL.
Betty received her education in the Phenix City School System, graduating from Central High School in 1971. It was in elementary school that she met the love of her life, Benny Jones Sr. Together they would enjoy 51 years of marriage and raised three beautiful children. She had a combined total of 30 years working in the textile industry ( 25 of those years dedicated to Swift Spinning Mills in Columbus, GA). She dedicated her life to Jehovah on July 9, 1983 and was a faithful member of the Phenix West Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses until her death. Betty loved teaching others the truth on how one day this earth will be a beautiful paradise. Betty was always the sharpest-dressed woman in the room, she was a wonderful sister to her siblings, had a giving heart, opening her home to many; she loved her family dearly and loved to entertain them; she is described as a force of nature, full of energy, unstoppable and unforgettable; she was the best cook and loved by all who met her.
Other than her parents, Betty was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Collins, and Patricia Manning.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her dedicated and loving husband Benny Jones of Phenix City, AL; two sons, Benny Jones, Jr. of Phenix City, Al and Deminico Jacobs (Nikki) of Chesapeake, VA; one daughter, Brandi Duncan (Rashad) of Smith Station, AL; two sisters, Catherine Hampton of Stockbridge, GA and Carla Billups of Columbus, GA; two brothers, Donald Billups and David Billups both of Columbus, GA; 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
