Obituary For James Upshaw Jr.

Mr. James Upshaw Jr. was born on November 21, 1951 and passed on April 11, 2024 in Columbus, GA.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. EST, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church, Pittsview, AL with Rev. Toney Robert, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is Friday, April 19, 2024 from 1 - 5 p.m. EST.

James Upshaw, Jr. was born in Pittsview, AL on November 21, 1951, to the late James Upshaw Sr. and Leola H. Upshaw.

James Upshaw Jr. loved the Lord as he loved to sing and talk about the Lord, he will truly be missed.

James was preceded in death by his father the late James Upshaw Sr. and the late Leola H Hunter; two brothers, Curtis Upshaw, Sr., and JC Upshaw.

James Upshaw, Jr. is survived by four daughters, Michelle (John) Gillies of Lehigh Acres, FL, Chiquita Alexander, Unique Alexander of Columbus, GA, and Melissa Griffin of Ft. Myers, FL; four sisters, Bernice Townsend of Ft. Myers, FL, Virginia Upshaw of Columbus, GA, Leola Upshaw of Columbus, GA, Della (Bobby) Murph of Lehigh Acres, FL; two brothers, Earnest Upshaw of Columbus, GA and Thomas Upshaw of St. Louis, Missouri; 17a grandchildren; two aunts, Eddie Lou Mack of Pittsview, AL and Bessie Baker of Chicago, IL.; special cousin, Beatrice Hall, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
