Obituary For Elizabeth Moore

Elizabeth “Dent” Smith Moore,91, of Grantsboro passed Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at her residence.

Her service is 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 20, 2024 at the New Bern Eastern Missionary Baptist Association Headquarters 885 Hwy. 306 N Grantsboro. The interment will follow at Keystown Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughters, Deloris Thomas (George) Shirley Moore Stokes (Dewey), Vanessa Stokes (Dennis) all of New Bern; Pamela Moore (Reverend Edmond), Aurora; two sons, Michael Keith (Tracey) Moore, New Bern and James Arthur Moore of the residence; two sisters, Beatrice Woodard and Doris Gibbs both of New Bern; twenty-eight grandchildren; fifty-four great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great-grandchildren.

"Miss Dent" was one of my favorite people. She's a very special friend that I have loved since I was a child. Her mother "Miss Lena Smith" was well known to the folks of Alliance. My late husband, James Nobles often worked in the fields with her. He always said she was "one working woman"...and as a young man he had a hard time "keeping up with her". She will always have a special place in my heart. I learned a good lesson from her passing. I had meant to stop in and see her and tell her one more time that I love her...but I waited too long, so if you have someone you need to tell that you love them...do it now. Miss Dent, I am so sorry for not getting to tell you how much you mean to me so look out for me in heaven 'cause I am sure going to tell you up there. Until that day, rest in heavenly peace.
