Obituary For Amy Mae Wingard

Amy Wingard was the third of thirteen children born to Charlie Lee and Alice Patterson-Suggs on March 9, 1952, in Sallis, MS. At an early age Amy accepted Christ as her Savior joining with Bunker Hill M.B. Church where she would remain a member until her health began to decline.

Amy obtained her high school education from McAdams High School with the class of 1971. She would later earn her bachelor's degree in mass communication from Jackson State University. After obtaining her degree, she began her career at Mississippi State Tax Commission in Clinton, MS and the Russell C. Davis Planetarium in Jackson, MS.

Amy united in Matrimony to Charlie Wingard in 1976 and to this union two children were born: Daryl Wingard and Latoya Wingard. Throughout her life's journey, she was a devoted wife, mother, sister and friend. She was always willing to go above and beyond to help others in any way that she could. Upon retiring, she continued her life of serving others through volunteering in her community and occasionally at the planetarium, as well as attending city council meetings. Amy moved to Euless, TX when her health declined to be closer to her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie Lee and Alice Suggs, four brothers James, Perry, Jerry, and Tyrone Sugg. Also, preceding her in death were two brothers-in-law, Johnnie (Priscilla) Wingard and Henry Wingard.

She leaves behind her husband Charlie Wingard and two children: Latoya Wingard of Arlington, TX and Daryl (Makita) Wingard of Harker-Heights, TX; grandson: August Wingard and step-grandchildren: Jasmine and Jamie Williams and Jaylen Mason.
