Dear Carolyn,. I awoke a few days ago thinking of you. We had not communicated since before Christmas. Something told me to just type your name in my browser of phone. I was very sad to see your obit. I felt a hole in my heart. You told me your cancer had came back in lungs but treatment was going well. Your care for my husband and daughter, Wendy, will always be some of my fondest memories in Cordele before Charles died----your rushing to my side. You and Charles joking at me because you both liked Cajun food and I could make tolerate it ...your jokes and Faith ... May you rest in peace and tranquility .....I know your family has lost their leader. I have lost a sweet kind happy friend who always checked on on us after leaving Cordele. I remember her as a very brilliant student at Excelsior High School. She was also a distant cousin of mine. I believe she made history as the first African American Women voted to the city council of Rochelle Ga. She served her constituents well in that post. Hopefully that opened the doors for more marginalized citizenry to be a part of change making. She lived valiantly. Rest well cousin, rest well.

May God hold the family close to Him,at this moment. One thing I can say about Carolyn is if you didn't know what she was going through you wouldn't know,because she's always had a smile on her face that's would light up the world. And she didn't let her stop serving the ALL MIGHTY GOD. RIP Deacon Farriel and Lucille Lewis.
