Obituary For Dolphus MCclain Tatum

Dolphus MCclain Tatum, 88 of Madison, NC passed April 2, 2024. Public viewing will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 at Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC from 12 Noon - 7:30 p.m. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Mary D. Perry Memorial Chapel of Perry Spencer Funeral Home, Madison, NC from 12:30 - 1:00 p.m. with the service beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Eden Garden Cemetery, Eden, NC.

Dolphus MCclain Tatum gained his wings on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at Jacob Creek Rehabilitation Center, Madison, NC. He was born November 12, 1935 in Rockingham County. He was the loving son of Mrs. Vester Tatum-Carter and stepfather, Sander (Luck) Carter. He attended public school in Madison, NC.

Dolphus was a very quiet, but patient man, that never met a stranger. He was often seen walking in the Madison community, which gained him a lot of friends and followers. He enjoyed spending time with family and was a regular attendee at the Tatum family reunion. He touched the hearts of the young and the old. And he will be greatly missed by so many that knew him.

Dolphus was preceeded in death by his beloved mother and stepfather. His grandparentsw, William Samuel and Rosie Jane Martin-Tatum. Specia aunt, Oledies Clanton and special cousin Melvin Tatum and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
