MRS. ADA BELL STAMPER HINTON - Age 91, of Ringgold, Georgia passed away Monday, March 25, 2024. She was born July 30, 1932 in Rossville, Georgia to her late parents, father, John T. Stamper and mother, Lela Clark Stamper. Mrs. Hinton was preceded by her devoted husband, Edward Hinton, youngest son, Jerry Hinton, brothers, John, Ross, Rev. John T., George, Lewis, and Rev. William Stamper; sisters, Thelma Pickens, Lottie Battle, Etoilor Woods, Ruby Brisbane, Mary Bell Black, and Connie Harrison, and her dearest friend, Josie Mae Harris.
Mrs. Ada was happily married to Edward Hinton and to this union three children were born, Darrell, Eleanor, and Jerry. She was a Deaconess at Mt. Zion Baptist Church #2, Ringgold, Georgia. She was employed by E. T. Barwick and retired from Roper Corporation. She loved attending to her flowers and was infamous for cutting her own grass even in her later years. She also enjoyed cooking and barbecuing for her family.
Mrs. Ada Hinton leaves to cherish her memories, devoted son, Darrell (Carol) Hinton; loving daughter, Eleanor Hinton; granddaughters, Lesli Hinton all of Ringgold, Georgia, Nikki Owens of Decatur, Georgia, and Cerelyn Kelsey of Seattle , Washington; grandsons, Jermaine (Kimberly) Owens of Loganville, Georgia, Jillette Johnson of Monteray, California; nine great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Stamper, Peggy Davidson; brother-in-law, Charles Davis; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Homegoing Celebration will be Saturday, March 30, 2024 at 2:00 P. M. at the Willis Funeral Home Chapel, 2011 Martin L. King, Jr. Blvd., Dalton, GA, 30721 with Rev. Harry Reeves as Eulogist and other Ministers officiating. Her remains will lie in state at the funeral home on Friday after 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Interment, LaFayette City Cemetery in LaFayette, Georgia. Arrangements entrusted to Willis Funeral Home, Inc., Dalton, Georgia.
