Obituary For Bobby Lee Turner

In Loving Memory of Bobby Lee Turner: A Life of Service, Music, and Family

Bobby Lee Turner, a man of unwavering devotion, was born on January 14, 1947, in Quitman, Georgia, to Grant Turner and Nancy Bean. He embarked on a journey marked by dedication, service, and boundless love, leaving an indelible mark upon all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Bobby’s formative years led him to Carver High School in Delray Beach, Florida, where he graduated in 1967 before courageously serving his country in the U.S. Army. Following his service, he traversed through life’s varied landscapes, finding solace and purpose in his roles as a Truck Driver for U.S. Truss and later as a Bus Driver for the Brooks County School Board Transportation Department.

His passion for gospel music echoed through the halls of his home, bringing solace and joy to all who listened. Bobby’s affinity for hats was as distinctive as his soulful tunes, a testament to his unique spirit and zest for life.

On Tuesday, March 12, 2024, surrounded by the love of his cherished family, Bobby peacefully transitioned to eternal rest at his residence. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Labrent Turner, and siblings Effie “Skeeta” and Grant “Choochie Boy.”
Bobby leaves behind a cherished legacy of love, survived by his devoted children: Keith Turner, Dawn Bridgette (Ken), Sabrina Turner, Terrill Turner-Smith (Anthony), Tremaine Turner (Katrina), Whitney Koonce (Damien), and Brittney Turner (Cecil). His memory is further honored by a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings Willie Mae “Sister,” Margaret Turner “Peggy,” John Turner “JT,” John Turner “Sonny,” and “Pee Wee,” as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.
In each chord strummed, in every cherished memory shared, Bobby Lee Turner’s spirit lives on, a testament to a life well-lived, and a heart overflowing with love. May his soul find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all whose lives he touched.
