Pearlina M. Lewis, 88, of West, Ms. was called home to be with the Lord on March 7th, 2024. She was born to the late Alec and Gladys McGee on May 3rd, 1935, In Copiah County, Ms. She was the sixth of nine children and the last surviving of her siblings. At an early age, she and her family moved to Rolling Fork, Ms. She later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana, where she was employed as a Domestic worker. She then became employed as a cook. From there, she obtained a job at a glass factory, where she was promoted to a supervisor position as a union stewardess. While living in Indiana, she me the love of her life, Mr. Choice Lewis Jr. who preceded her in death on October 6th, 1996; six children was born to this union.
Pearlina Lewis was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many. She accepted Christ and united with the New Hope Baptist Church in Possumneck, Ms. until her health failed her. She was known for her sense of humor, generosity, and always providing a helping hand. Most of all, Pearlina was known to be an avid fisher.
Pearlina was preceded in death by her children: son, Wardell Marble and Daughter Odell French.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her children Mary Lewis of Indianapolis, IN, Roger (Theresa) Lewis of Kosciusko, Ms. Eugene Lewis of Indianapolis, IN. Theresa Lewis of Indianapolis, IN. Sherry Lewis of Kosciusko, Ms. and Darlene Lewis of Kosciusko, Ms. Her grandchildren: Odell; Annette (Marcus) and Renee; Mary: Pearline, Lawrence (Stephanie), and Vincent; Roger: Kawanda, Jarvis (Clarice), Vincentia (Maurice). Devan (Renee), and Rodgerick (Vanesia); Sherry: Ryan; Darlene Autumn (Kenny); and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
