Obituary For Mary Gilmore Luckett

Mary Louise (Kilbert) (Gilmore) Luckett was born in Goodman, MS on January 2, 1954 to the late Ida Mae (Roby) (Kilbert) Brown and Willie B. Kilbert. She departed this life on March 13, 2024.

Mary confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior. She was a devoted and faithful member of the New Banyon Missionary Baptist Church.

Mary worked as a seamstress at Garan Inc. in Kosciusko, MS for 15 years. She later became a proprietor and decorator for Home Interiors and Gifts.

In 1970, Mary married Alvin Gilmore. She later re-married Stanley Luckett who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her mother: Ida Mae Brown; Father: Willie B. Kilbert; Grand daughter: Shamyra Jackson; Aunts: Martha Cole, Katherine Roby, Irene Young, and Zella Nappier; Uncles: Emmitt Roby, Mckinley Roby and Monroe Kilbert.

She leaves to cherish her memories three children: James (Lakesha) Kilbert, Milwaukee, WI; Charles (Lorean) Kilbert and Tracy Gilmore of Sallis, MS; Seven brothers: Allie B. (Sandra), Sallis, MS, Willie C. (Stacie), Elgin, IL; Nathaniel “Nate” (Alyse), Flowood, MS, Orlando (Rochelle) Gene, David, Lee “Dennis” all of Elgin, IL; Four sisters: Linda (Anthony), Barlett, TN; Janice, South Elgin, IL; Katie, Elgin, IL; Faye, Los Angeles, CA. A very special uncle, Booker T. Roby of Kosciusko, MS.

She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren: 27 great grandchildren, a great-great grandchild, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

INTERMENT: New Banyon Cemetery, Goodman, MS
