Jeffrey Evan Taylor of Sunset, Texas, passed away on Saturday, March 9th, 2024 at the age of 44.

A memorial service will take place at 3:00pm on Sunday, March 17th, at Crossroads Church in Decatur, TX. A burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery in Decatur.

Family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16th, from 6-8pm at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie, TX.

Jeff was born on April 4, 1979 in Houston, TX to Raymond and Judy Taylor. He graduated from Spring Woods High School in 1997 where he participated in football and baseball. In 2001 he graduated with honors from Southwestern University in Georgetown, TX with a degree in business and a minor in music. While at Southwestern University, Jeff was on the baseball team. On September 27, 2003, Jeff married the love of his life, Sara Taylor, in Wichita Falls, TX.

His love for music played a key role throughout the course of his life. He played drums in a worship band with his brother for many years and was a regular participant in various church worship bands where he played multiple instruments. He was a member of Dallas band, Air Review, whose work was featured by Apple, the International Olympic Committee, and Netflix, among others. He worked at Irving Bible Church for 14 years where he served as Technical Director. His time there included managing a music studio where he worked on numerous albums and recordings for local and national artists, including some grammy-nominated projects.

In 2018, Jeff combined his music and business knowledge and opened his own audio, video, and lighting production company, Taylor Pro Audio. His company worked with churches, businesses, and events throughout Texas and surrounding states. He also acted as the operations manager for Petra Coatings, an epoxy coatings company.

Jeff’s personal relationship with Christ was evident in all areas of his life and could be clearly seen in the way he served those around him and in the strength of his relationships. He was passionate about serving others and, over the course of his life, he mentored numerous people in the areas of music and production. His influence on others was not limited to his skills as he encouraged those around him with his joy, his integrity, and his consistent, calming presence. Jeff was known for his many talents and his drive to achieve success in all things, but his greatest achievement and source of pride was his family. He was a faithful husband, a wonderful father, and a loving son and brother.

He was loved by so many, but none loved him more than his family. He is survived by his wife, Sara (Litteken) Taylor; son Callum Taylor; daughter Evan Taylor; parents Raymond and Judy Taylor of Alvord; and brothers Jason Taylor of Piedmont, OK and Travis Taylor of Alvord, TX and their families.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Jenny’s Hope at Wise County Christian Counseling.
