Obituary For Reginald Maurice Rogers, Sr.

The funeral services for the late Mr. Reginald Rogers, who departed this life on Saturday, March 9, 2024, will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, 11:00 a.m. from the Vienna Church of Christ, located at 915, E. Union Street, Vienna, Georgia. Brother Carl Colbert will deliver the Eulogy. The burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.Services may be viewed Facebook Live from the “Shipps Funeral Home ” Facebook page or by clicking the Video Stream link on this site's Home Page.

Reggie was born on September 26, 1959, in Cordele, Georgia to Ruby Hall Rogers and the late Joseph Rogers Sr. and was the youngest of six children. He was educated in the Crisp County School System and went on to become an expert welder/fabricator for over forty years.

Reggie’s welding skills led him to Tyson Farms, where he dedicated over twenty years of service. As a natural born comedian, Reggie enjoyed bringing smiles and laughter to his Tyson Farm’s teammates. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work and dedication to helping others.

Reggie became a Christian forty-three years ago and was an active member of the Vienna Church of Christ. He was always eager to share his biblical knowledge with everyone.

In his free time, Reggie enjoyed spending time outdoors, pursuing his creative endeavors, tinkering around the house, fishing, and watching movies.

He was a devoted father who loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always available to offer guidance, support, and encouragement.

Reggie was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Rogers Sr.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-three years, Christine; his children, Reginald Rogers Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Brandon Rogers Sr. of Sylvester, Georgia, Candace (Phillip) Rodriguez of Asheville, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Regina Rogers, Reggie Rogers, Amara Rogers, Faith Hillmon, Re-Nyjah Hillmon, Brandon Rogers Jr.; his mother, Ruby Rogers Felton of Sylvester, Georgia; his siblings, Loretta Brown of Cordele, Georgia, Joanne Rogers of Graham, North Carolina, Rose (Dennis) McGill of Sylvester, Georgia, Janice Johnson of Graham, North Carolina, Joseph (Gail) Rogers Jr. of Cordele, Georgia, Cessil (Leila) Rogers Sr. of Cordele, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
