Betty Ann Walton earned her wings on Friday evening, February 23, 2024. She was born on October 26, 1939, to the late J.D. and Ocie Lee Fletcher.

On June 9, 1962, she united in holy matrimony with Smith Walton. He preceded her in death on March 11, 1969. To their union two children were born, Frederick Carl and Carol Priscilla. She was also preceded in death by a brother, J.D. Fletcher, Jr.

She retired from General Tire and Rubber Company (Aldora Mill) in 2002, She enjoyed sitting in her recliner, talking on the phone, watching court TV shows and the Game Show Network, as well as her weekend lineup of church services.

As a child, she joined Bethel A.M.E. Church of Barnesville, Georgia. She remained a dedicated member of Bethel until its closure. She served the church in numerous capacities including as a Sunday School teacher and secretary.
