Obituary For Mrs. Willisee Speed Smart

โ€œI have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only but unto all them also that love his appearingโ€

Willisee Speed Smart was born to the late James Speed and the late Eathia Mims Speed, on June 10, 1953, in Hampton County, South Carolina.

She attended the Public Schools in Hampton County, South Carolina.

At an early age, Willisee confessed Christ as her Savior and joined the Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Estill, South Carolina along with her late Mother-In-Law, Thelma Garvin. She also attended Efferson Missionary Baptish Church, Nixville, South Carolina. She later relocated having been led by the Spirit and Joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church, Varnville, South Carolina.

After the death of her mother, she was reared in the home of the late Mother Minnie Tobin where they lived in Stanford, Ct., for many years until relocating to South Carolina.

She was joined in Marriage to Toby James Smart, and to this union one daughter was born, Kemyetta Speed.

Willisee was a loving and quiet individual. She loved fishing and gardening during her spare time. She loved her family, friends, and especially her grandchildren whom she reared as her own. During her lifetime she worked to various plants in Hampton County to included: Best Manufactory, Estill, South Carolina, Southern Exchange, Hampton, South Carolina, Carsonite, Varnville, South Carolina, and for the last (15) years LaCreuse, Early Branch, South Carolina.

We are in this world for a limited time. This world is not our home, we are just passing through on our way to a mansion that God has prepared for us. In addition, to her parents and grandparents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Fredrica, Francis, Rena, Johnnie Mae, Ethel, Luevitira, and Leroy.

Peace, I leave with you; my peace, I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be trouble and do not be afraid.

She leaves to mourn her Legacy: Husband, Toby Smart, Nixville, SC. A loving and devoted daughter, Kemyetta Speed, Varnville, SC. (13) Step-Children; (4) Grandchildren; Chassity Robinson, Faizon Speed, Augustus Collins, and Devin Walker all of Varnville, SC. (4) Great-grandchildren; (1) Sister; Lillie Mae (Tobey) Ruffin, Atlanta, GA; (1) Brother; George (Betsy) Tobin, Estill, SC; (3) Sisters-In-Law: Dorothy S. Riley, Fairfax, SC, Diane (Phillip) Hamilton, Varnville, SC, Mary Mikell, Hampton, SC; (1) Brother-In-Law; Charles (Betty) Butler, Scotia, SC. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and loving friends.
