Obituary For Jean Peggy Thomas

Jean "Peggy" Thomas was born on January 27, 1946 in Florence, SC to the late parents of WJ and Corine Leonard. She transitioned from this life on February 14, 2024 to join her Husband, (Charles W. Thomas), Father, (W J Leonard)0, Mother (Corine Leonard) Several Brothers (Robert Lee, Laverne, Reginald, and Jerry), Several Sisters, (Lynda, Tasha, Jacqueline "Cricket" and Jo Edna), children (Clarissa "Pie" and Calvin "Pokie"), and several grandchildren.

Jean Thomas will leave her everlasting impression on her Children Wesley Thomas, Carlton Thomas, Cliff Thomas (Temeka), Cleve Thomas, Carl Thomas (Stefanie), Ceretha Stephens (Hollis), Charlene Carswell (Marvin), Chadwick Thomas (Lauren), Celeste Thomas, Cornelius Thomas (Kimberly), Cassandra Thomas, Charmane Glenn (Michacl), Christopher Thomas, and Candice Thomas, her God-Daughter, Kita Holmes and a host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, one Great Great Granddaughter, two Sisters Betty Smith (Thomas), Sharon Alberty, several Brothers (Edward Leonard (Laverne), Lester Leonard, Don Leonard (Cassie), Emmanuel Leonard, Fredrick Leonard, and Clifford Leonard Jean spent most of her life caring for others in the most loving and caring way. She enjoyed a range of Westerns as well as the Family Feud game show. In her spare time she enjoyed reading nonfiction books and listening to gospel music. Jean was a wonderful, loving, resilient and very outspoken heroine.

Jean's unwavering belief in God helped her overcome many of life's challenges. Her love for God, and others, led to her family, extending beyond the traditional family structure. With three simple words, "I love you," she left a lasting impression on anyone she met. Although she will be greatly missed, we rest assured of God's promise that we will see her again.

Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Jean “Peggy” Thomas will be held Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Church of God in Unity, 709 Boundary Street, Quitman, Georgia. Burial: Simmon Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
